On April 20, 2015 Trent Alan Dubroc, 25, pleaded guilty to one count of manslaughter in front of Judge David Ritchie. A one-year-old suffered a large skull fracture while in Dubroc’s care at some point between September 26, 2013 and September 28, 2013. On April 13, 2015, Dale Wadric Winters entered a guilty plea to one count of manslaughter. Winters pleaded guilty to killing his 30-year-old wife, Michelle Mitchell, on June 7, 2011. Mitchell was shot once in the chest at a residence on East Prien Lake Road in Lake Charles. Officers in Caldwell Parish apprehended Winters later that same night. On January 13, 2015 Judge Sharon Wilson sentenced Maurice Nelson to three years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections. Nelson was convicted of Attempted Manslaughter on December 2, 2014. The jury convicted Nelson of shooting a man several times in the parking lot of Bethel Metropolitan Baptist Church before chasing him down Enterprise Boulevard. On December 2, 2014 a jury convicted Maurice Nelson of Attempted Manslaughter. Nelson was convicted of shooting a man multiple times before chasing after him on June 27, 2012. Nelson began shooting the victim in the parking lot of Bethel Metropolitan Baptist Church, and the incident continued down Enterprise Boulevard. The victim suffered two gunshot wounds. On September 18, 2014 a jury found Dwane Edward Fox guilty of one count of Manslaughter. Fox was convicted of killing 48-year-old Mychel Cleaver on January 9, 2013. Fox beat and strangled Cleaver in his home at 4016 Harvard Street in Lake Charles. He then discarded Cleaver's body south of Lake Charles on Friesen Road. On May 19, 2014 Robert Daniel Wilkins pleaded guilty to one count of manslaughter, one count of possession of CDS II with intent to distribute and one count of possession of CDS I with intent to distribute. Wilkins pleaded guilty to the September 21, 2014 murder of Anthony K. Fontenot. The murder took place under the Choupique Bayou Bridge off of Highway 108 south of Sulphur.
