Kidd Found Guilty as Charged of Murder

Scott M. Kidd, 37, Kinder, was found guilty as charged two (2) counts first degree murder.

In 2020, Kidd entered the home of the victims without authorization. Upon entering the home, Kidd brutally shot and killed the victims, stole their belongings, and fled the scene.

“I am incredibly proud of First Assistant District Attorney Jacob Johnson and Assistant District Attorney Joey Williams for prosecuting this case in the manner they did. What this defendant did was brutal and evil and I hope the victim’s family can find some sort of peace in knowing that justice was served today and this criminal is being held responsible for the senseless act he committed. I also want to commend the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Detectives and all who worked this case. Because of the dedication and hard work from everyone involved, we have one less dangerous criminal off the streets of Calcasieu Parish.” said District Attorney Stephen Dwight.

Sentencing for Kidd will be held December 17th before Judge David Ritchie.
