Sterling sentenced for manslaughter

 

 After pleading guilty to manslaughter, J’Vonte Sterling, 19, Lake Charles, was sentenced today by Judge Clayton Davis to 20 years Department of Corrections without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.

             In 2019, Sterling was arrested for a shooting that occurred on Legion St. that caused the victim to succumb to his injuries.

 

              Assistant District Attorneys Ross Murray and Hope Wyatt Buford prosecuted the case for the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office.
