On April 11, 2017, District Judge Ron Ware found Ivan Monceaux III, age 20, guilty of Aggravated Rape.
Monceaux was 19 years old at the time of offense and was a neighbor to the 7 year old victim. The victim was at Monceaux’s house playing video games when the offense occurred.
Sentencing is set for Monday, April 24, 2017, at 10:00 am before District Judge Ron Ware. Monceaux faces a penalty of life in prison for the aggravated rape charge.
Detective Brittany Jones with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was the lead detective.
Assistant District Attorney Adam Ortego prosecuted the case for the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office.
