Daniel Rodasti Sentenced to 18 Years in Prison

On Friday, May 15, 2015 Judge Sharon Wilson sentenced Daniel Chemeeks Rodasti to 18 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections.

A jury convicted Rodasti on April 30, 2015 of Attempted Simple Robbery, Simple Battery and Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon.

Rodasti was convicted of attempting to rob a man on June 11, 2014 in Lake Charles. The incident took place at a home on Gelpi Drive, and the victim suffered a gunshot wound to his leg. After the initial incident, Rodasti fled to Kinder with the firearm that was used.

This is Rodasti’s third conviction involving a robbery.

Judge Wilson ordered Rodasti to serve three years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections on the Attempted Simple Robbery charge, six months in the parish jail on the Simple Battery charge and 18 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections on the Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon charge. All time will be served concurrently.

Detective Dustin Gaudet investigated the case for the Lake Charles Police Department.

Assistant District Attorney Bobby Holmes prosecuted the case for the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office with the help of Assistant District Attorneys Jacob Johnson and Ross Murray.
