DeBarge Found Guilty of Injuring a Police Animal and Resisting an Officer

On January 24, 2013, a jury found Gerald Brent Debarge guilty of injuring or killing a police animal. Debarge was convicted of injuring a police canine on August 14, 2012 while officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant.

 

Judge Michael Canaday also found Debarge guilty of resisting an officer during the same incident. Debarge is being held without bond until his sentencing which is set for February 1 at 9:00 a.m.

 

Assistant District Attorney Tara Hawkins prosecuted the case with the help of Assistant District Attorney Hope Wyatt.
