On May 23, 2012, Judge D. Kent Savoie sentenced David Nelson to thirty (30) years in the Louisiana Department of Corrections. On March 22, 2012, a jury found Nelson guilty of Manslaughter. Assistant District Attorney David Kimball prosecuted the case. Nelson was convicted of the 2009 death of Chad Heath.
