Beginning Wednesday, May 20, 2020, the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office will reopen to the public. Hours of operation will resume as normal from 8:30 to 5:00, Monday through Friday. For those individuals who need to visit the office in person, our temporary, limited hours will be from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. UPDATE: Please be advised that we are postponing all appointments with our Pre-Trial Diversion and Misdemeanor Probation divisions for 30 days. All individuals will receive a letter or phone call with a new appointment date. Our highest priority continues to be the health and safety of our employees and everyone in the community. Stay safe.
In consideration of the public safety recommendations from our public health agencies, and in compliance with the Order of the Supreme Court of Louisiana dated March 16, 2020, we are postponing all criminal jury trials scheduled to commence from today’s Order date to March 27, 2020. All parties will receive written notice of their new court appearance at the address provided to the Court. Further delays may be ordered by the Supreme Court in the weeks to come.
