Civil

The Civil Section of our office provides legal counsel and representation to many local government entities. The entities include the Calcasieu Parish School Board, the Chennault International Airport Authority, the Lake Charles Regional Airport, Fire Protection Districts, Waterworks Districts, Gravity Drainage Districts, Sewer Districts, Recreation Districts in general. The entities served are governed by citizens who voluntarily serve on their respective governing boards. In order to encourage citizens to serve on these boards for the betterment of our parish, our office operates on the principle that those citizen board members should find they have a level of comfort in knowing that our Civil Section staff is available to them to advise and assist them in carrying out their responsibilities in accord with the laws applicable to their functions and offices. Our office advises and represents them in legal matters that may arise in the performance of their duties and in may instances represents them in litigation.
Our Civil Staff consists of three full-time attorneys and three full-time secretaries.
