Demouchet Found as Habitual Offender

Today, August 18th, Judge Robert Wyatt found Marlin D. Demouchet, 47, Lake Charles, to be a second or subsequent habitual offender. He was sentenced to 45 years in prison without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence on each of the two (2) counts Sexual Battery of a Victim Under Thirteen; 20 years in prison without benefit on one (1) count Attempted Sexual Battery of a Victim Under Thirteen; 15 years in prison without benefit on one (1) count Sexual Battery; and 5 years in prison on one (1) count Simple Escape.
On May 21st, Demouchet was found guilty of two (2) counts Sexual Battery of a Victim Under Thirteen, one (1) count of Attempted Sexual Battery of a Victim Under Thirteen, one (1) count Sexual Battery, and one (1) count Simple Escape.
On July 7th, Judge Robert Wyatt sentenced Demouchet to 30 years in prison without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence on each count of sexual battery of a victim under thirteen; 15 years in prison without benefit on the attempted sexual battery of a victim under thirteen; 10 years in prison without benefit on the sexual battery charge; and 3 years in prison on the simple escape.
Demouchet sexually abused 3 victims ages ranging from 10-13 at the time of the crimes.
The Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office sought further sentencing enhancement due to his repeated sexual abuse of children.
