Assistant District Attorney Karen McLellan was recently appointed to the 2015 Executive Council for the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association. McLellan was nominated for the position, and the nomination was then presented to the remainder of the executive board.
The Executive Council presides over all of the Bar Association members in Calcasieu Parish.
McLellan has been practicing for 11 years in various fields of law. She has served the people of Calcasieu Parish for over the last three years as a member of the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Staff. Currently McLellan is an Appellate attorney and also the lead prosecutor for the Drug Court program.
Originally from Baltimore, McLellan graduated from Louisiana State University’s school law. She is currently licensed in all courts, including the United States Supreme Court.
